The relation between the intrinsic viscosity of a polymer solution and the relative molecular mass of the polymer allows this apparatus to be used for quantitative determination of relative molecular mass. Comprises glass U-tube with two bulbs, connected by a capillary tube approximately 120×1 mm. length x internal diameter.
